Diabetic Foot SG aims to remedy an all too pervasive issue facing DFU patients: the cost and availability of offloading footwear. Offloading Footwear is a vital component in DFU patient care, as recommended by the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF). It allows patients to offload pressure on their ulcers, which in turn allows for healing, prevention of further deterioration, and ultimately a decreased risk of amputation. However, the cost of this footwear, particularly in Singapore, can often act as a hindrance, and can even deter patients from getting the care they need and improving their quality of life.
